"Staying in State Park CG decided to try out the restaurant. Went on Friday at 4:00. Had the Catfish special which is 5 pieces and 2 sides for $12.99. The five pieces were large pieces. Wife and I both got a plate and between us we could only eat 5, so we have enough left for another meal. The main thing I want to point out is how good the fish was. I have caught, cooked and eaten lots of Catfish over the years and this is some of the best! Give it a try."

"I've been eating here for about 30 years. Its been the same consistent good and satisfying meal every time I visit! I used to live near this place so I used to get to eat here more. But the owner is so kind and has endured and also with help of Family! I Love the "Family" atmosphere this place brings and so close to Mark Twain Lake and the Dam. I think a sign they have says something like "Best food near the 'Dam' site". Best Steaks, Prime Rib, Burgers, Fish, Pork Tenderloin, Chicken and other great foods! And if you don't see it on the menu, ask about it, maybe its something they can make but don't list it. And don't forget the HOMEMADE Desserts and other treats they have, like HOMEMADE Fudge, HOMEMADE Pies, and other goodies. Also some cute souvenirs are available. And just so you know, they also in the last 10 years or so opened another location in Hannibal for those who aren't near the Lake location! You have to try this place and you won't be disappointed. "I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Rustic Oak! We eat out A LOT and this place never fails to impress me. Got the country fried steak with gravy and you could cut it with a fork. Everyone in the place is so friendly and the atmosphere is awesome. 10/10 best place in the Mark Twain Lake area! “I’ll be back”"
